Monroe Community College (MCC) is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that defines, maintains, and promotes educational excellence across institutions with diverse missions, student populations, and resources.
MSCHE conducts accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidacy status) activities for institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and any other geographic areas in which the Commission elects to conduct accrediting activities, including the evaluation of distance education and correspondence education programs offered at those institutions. MSCHE accredits institutions across the United States as well as globally.
Monroe Community College’s accreditation status was reaffirmed in 2016, and its next self-study evaluation will occur in academic year 2025-26.
Curricula are registered and approved by the New York State Department of Education. The College is authorized to award the Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.) and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees, as well as certificates, as established by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. All curricula are approved by the New York State Department of Education for the training of veterans and other eligible persons under Public Law 634 (Children of Deceased Veterans), Public Law 894 (Disabled Veterans), Public Law 89-358 (Veterans Administration Readjustment Benefits of 1966) and Public Law 93-508 (Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Act of 1974).
